The Owl Weekly Parent Newsletter 8/27/19

Welcome Back!

We are excited that the new school year has begun. As expected, some students might be nervous or clingy during drop off in the upcoming days. It is often best to make your goodbyes enthusiastic yet brief. If you have a particularly emotional drop off, please tell the front desk receptionists, and we will call you with an update during the day.

We hope that everyone had a wonderful first day of school!

Drop Off and Pick Up

Curbside drop off has begun! Dismissal Cards will go home with students today (Tuesday). We will begin curbside pick up service TOMORROW, Wednesday the 28th. PLEASE GIVE YOURSELF EXTRA TIME FOR THE FIRST TWO WEEKS! People are still figuring out routines and locations. Things WILL get faster!

Check out the Drop off and pick up cheatsheets here!

Curbside Drop off and Pick up Video!

Have you never done curbside before? Do you have a relative or caregiver who is new to the process? Check out our quick little video!

**Please note that the parking lot behind Stearns Hall is reserved for ISP Auction Winners only. ADA Parking is available in the Learners Hall Courtyard (on top of Caruthers), and on top of Sherman Street by the Hilltop building.**

PGE Work at Water Ave & Caruthers

Because we never seem to start the school year without a little added excitement, PGE has informed us that they have work scheduled on the utility pole on the corner of Caruthers and Water for this Wednesday and Thursday. They will have their own traffic control group. They claim that the work will run from 8:00AM to 2:30PM and therefore NOT interfere with dismissal. Think positive thoughts, please!!

ISP T Shirt too Small? Too big? Trade it in!

If your child has outgrown his or her ISP t shirt,  come trade it in on the mornings of August 28 – 30th. You can also pick one up if you are a newly enrolled family who didn’t get one. Simply go to the front desks at Stearns Hall or Hilltop to get a new one.

ISP Globe Trotters Run Hood to Coast

The ISP Globe Trotters, a team comprised of ISP admins and parents representing all three language tracks, conquered Hood to Coast this past weekend! Our first-ever school team ran the 199 miles relay in 31 hours, 30 minutes. Great job, everyone! Special thanks to Yukako Owen for organizing.

We saw a number of other ISP community members on the route, both runners and volunteers alike. Did you run Hood to Coast this year? Anyone interested in Globe Trotters 2020? Drop us a line at owleditor@intlschool.org!
