Thank you, International School of Portland community, for making our 2021-2022 Global Gala a huge success! You contributed over $200,000 for our students and teachers, including over $144,00 (and counting!) for our Literacy, Language and Literature special appeal.
It’s not too late to make a gift in support of track-language literacy. To donate, click below.
Literature, Language and Literacy: Special Appeal 2022
Every year, we raise funds restricted to a certain project that advances the mission of and elevates an education at the International School of Portland. This year, our $100,000 goal will be put to work to advance Literacy, Language and Literature in the classroom.
Your special appeal gift will go to work immediately to provide:
- Hard-to-procure books that are written in our track languages, or are high-quality translations.
- Opportunities for leveled reading to be offered in all track languages, allowing students to build their literacy skills day after day.
- Supplemental digital learning tools that reinforce literacy learned in the classroom, such as Level Learning that advances phonetics in Spanish and character learning in Mandarin.
Beyond ensuring our classroom books enhance students’ literacy and vocabulary, our classroom literature collections are also specifically chosen with an equitable lens, representing the diverse voices and experiences of our community.
Our students are already immersed in language and culture – immersing them in books to support their experience at ISP as a center of excellence in multicultural education!
You can contribute NOW to the special appeal!

With Additional Support From
A very special thank you to all who joined us for our virtual Global Gala on November 21, 2020. We estimate that we had over 300 guests tune in from all over the country! Together our community came together and donated over $122,000 at the event – gifts that will go right to work to support our students and teachers during this challenging year. We are humbled and grateful beyond words for the support of our community.
