I think we all need a little Spirit right about now, don’t you? ISP’s Winter Spirit Week is coming next week! Please dress up and show some support for ISP!

Bingo and Pizza Night – Feb 2nd 5PM
A return of a classic, Pizza and Bingo, will be held in the Hilltop Gym area from 5:00-6:30PM on Friday Feb 2nd! Come enjoy some time with other families and kids, some free bingo entertainment and prizes, and of course PIZZA! Our space is limited so please RSVP using the linked Google Form. Once we hit capacity the form will be closed so get in early if you’re interested!

Did you know that we have an official Early Childhood and New Family Liaison here at ISP? We do! Eduardo (Ed) P is a fellow parent and the official Parent Network contact for families who are new to ISP, or who have a student in PreK – Kindergarten.
Ed is happy to answer any questions that you may have about ISP, offer guidance and advice, or to connect you with the appropriate staff for further support.

GLSEN Donation to ISP Library
We were so thankful to receive a donation box from GLSEN (Gay, Lesbian and Straight Education Network), which includes some terrific new titles for students at ISP. They donated a box of books with their donation bookplate inside, and some helpful information for librarians related to developing relationships that allow kids to be open about their identities, and stickers and bookmarks. Thank you, GLSEN!

Join Japan Institute of Portland Japanese Garden at the iconic Portland advertising agency, Wieden+Kennedy, for the first ever in-person installment of Living Traditions, a series of conversations and talks that explore some of the most iconic facets of Japanese culture.
“A Conversation on Art, Architecture, and Landscape” will explore the future of urban environments and the evolving roles of creative institutions to inspire civic discourse. Keynote speaker Yuko Hasegawa, Japan’s foremost contemporary art curator, will expound on her vision for integrating environmental awareness and ecology into exhibitions and innovative public programming. Joining Hasegawa in this forum will be a panel discussion featuring luminary speakers including architect Shohei Shigematsu (Director of OMA NYC) and landscape architect Dorothée Imbert (Director of the Knowlton School of Architecture, The Ohio State University). Professor Ken Tadashi Oshima (Professor of architecture, University of Washington, Seattle) will moderate this dialogue on how architecture, land use, and agriculture can foster creative placemaking and environmental sustainability.
