EDI Community Committee Update
The members of the Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) Community Committee over the last few months have been quite busy. The first step this committee took was to review our EDI Statement of Intent and share some new perspectives. You can see the most recent and revised statement HERE. The committee then dove into our school-wide Assessment of Inclusivity and Multiculturalism Survey (AIM Survey) to connect this analysis to update our current EDI goals and objectives.
Now, the committee has established a plan to continue moving this work forward to create both short-term and long-term goals to move us forward into the 2023-2024 school year and beyond. We want to thank all the members who gave their time to this important work. They will be moving forward as a whole group and within subcommittees to hone in on what most needs to be focused on. If you would like to join the Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion Community Committee, please contact Bodo at bheiliger@intlschool.org. There may be some meetings over the summer, with it fully resuming in early September.
A member recently shared an opportunity to join “a training series for caregivers of young children (0-8) who are at the beginning of their racial learning journeys or who would like to fill in gaps in their foundational knowledge.” The deadline to sign up is May 29th. To learn more and sign up go to Embrace Race Training. If it is full, there will be more opportunities in the future. You can check out the resources they offer on their website: www.embracerace.org.
