The Owl Weekly Parent Bulletin: 11/5/2018
Chinese Host Students Arrive in January! For the 5th consecutive year, ISP and the Chinese track 5th grade families will be hosting students from our Capstone partner school in Suzhou, China. 20 students and 2 teachers from the Suzhou Experimental Elementary School (SEES), will be visiting January 28-February 1, 2019. They arrive the evening of January 28 and depart the morning of February 1. Each ISP 5th grader in the Chinese track will be matched with a SEES student who will attend classes with them throughout their visit. The students will stay with Chinese track 5th grade families (hopefully all are able to host!). The visiting students will be the same students who will host our students in March during Capstone. This is a wonderful opportunity for the students to get to know their host buddy and to get a glimpse of what it may be like to stay with a host family and attend a host school during Capstone. To learn more about Capstone or the exchange program with SEES, please contact Meredith (meredithf@intlschool.org) Global Kids Showcase

Beyond ISP Many families wonder about where ISP graduates continue their studies after 5th grade. Most alumni opt to continue their language studies by enrolling in a middle school that has immersion or advanced language options. Many decide to start a third! Below is a chart that shows the Middle School choices from our alumni from 2014-2018. Our alumni continue on to colleges all over the world! Below are some examples: Our alumni always tell us that their years at International School of Portland are formative ones – they are forever inspired and encouraged by the immersion in language and culture that prepares them for the road ahead.
