ISP 3rd Graders Meet Mayor Hales!

Last week, our Chinese track third graders went on a walking tour around Portland. The tour guide (who also happens to speak Chinese) gave the students a very nice tour of the arts and history of Portland. The students went to see the Portlandia statue, various downtown art instillations, and general city sites of note.

The tour ended at the Portland City Hall, where the students visited the City Council Chamber and the Mayor’s office. Mayor Charlie Hales was in the middle of a budget meeting, but came out and greeted these 3rd graders! The children asked him very good questions; the Mayor was quite impressed with these eight and nine year olds!
