The Owl 9/25/2023

Picture Day is this Friday!

Picture Day is this Friday, September 29th (it’s also “Dress to Impress Day” for ISP Spirit Week)!

Order forms should be going with your child this week. Please check backpacks! Pre-orders for picture packages may also be placed online by visiting and searching for “International School of Portland.” Your online order can be placed before and up to four (4) days after picture day. For order accuracy, please return your completed envelope on picture day for all payment types.

You are not required to purchase a photo package. However, we will be photographing every student for internal record-keeping purposes.

PICTURE RETAKE DAY: Tuesday, November 14th. If your child is absent on September 29th, please plan on having your child’s photo being taken on November 14th. We will send a reminder to all families whose students did not attend on Sept 29.

***If your child does not attend school on Fridays, your child is still welcome to get their photo taken! Please reach out to your child’s teacher about the times for their students’ pictures. You can bring your child to the gym with their class for their photo. You can also choose to wait for Retake Day, above***

***VOLUNTEERS NEEDED: We need a couple of volunteers for Picture Day! Some are needed in the morning, others in the afternoon. Volunteers will get a FREE photo package of their child! You MUST have a cleared background check in order to volunteer.***

Walk & Roll to School Day – October 4

Next Wednesday, October 4th is International Walk and Roll to School Day! Not to be confused with the National Walk and Roll Day in May.:)

In its honor, the ISP Green Team will be hosting a Bike Bus to school, followed by coffee! What is a bike bus? Basically, it’s a group of people biking together to a destination. Bike buses to school have become a movement! They help reduce our carbon footprint, they ARE SUPER FUN, and they can help us advocate for safer routes to school for all our students, faculty, and staff.

We’ll meet up at the Salmon Street Springs fountain area (SW Salmon Street and Naito Pkwy at Tom McCall Park) to form a massive, unstoppable bike brigade parade to school. Please get there between 7:35 and 7:40. Stay tuned – more routes may be added!
