The Owl 11/16/21
REMINDER: Education Town Hall TUESDAY!
TOMORROW!
Education Town Halls allow you to pose your questions or comments about any part of the academic program of the International School of Portland. We make them virtual so you can join from home or office.
The ISP Education Leadership Team (ELT) consists of: Bodo Heiliger, Head of School; Maria Abad, Head of Early Childhood; Pamela Chandler, Head of Elementary; Kelly Rogers, International Baccalaureate PYP Coordinator; and Heather Lenon, Student Support Services Coordinator.
REMINDER: Virtual Elementary Discussions
Dear families of 1st – 5th Graders:
Please join Head of Elementary, Dr. Pamela Chandler, for a series of grade-based discussions. This will give members of the community an opportunity to come and hear about developments in the school, as well as provide an open forum to ask questions or voice concerns. These discussions are meant to be casual conversations, with the Head of Elementary, while sharing a virtual cup of coffee.

Please Welcome Mairead O’Neill!
Please welcome Mairead, our new Assistant to the Head of Early Childhood! She will be the new face at the front desk of Stearns Hall. She has worked at the International School of Portland since September as a Kindergarten TA in the Global Kids Program.
As a graduate of King’s College, London, Mairead received her Bachelor Degree in English Language & Literature. With a background in multicultural education, she also attended the French American School and Gilkey International Middle School in Portland as a child and becoming fluent in French. She received her IB Diploma in 2016. Her IB education and her multicultural experiences gave her much confidence to explore opportunities that she may not have otherwise pursued. Her bilingual education has undoubtedly been a lifelong boon, and she is delighted that she will now get to participate in cultivating this gift for the next generation at the International School of Portland.
Prior to joining ISP, Mairead was an assistant at the Bright Horizons preschool in London. Mairead is very excited to continue her post-graduate career at the International School of Portland and looks forward to developing strong partnerships with the teachers, the administrative staff, students, and parents. She’s passionate about bilingual education and is looking forward to helping the next generation broaden their horizons at ISP!
Please take the moment to welcome her in her continued journey and success with ISP!
