Congrats, OBOB Winners!
This month, ISP participated in its first-ever Oregon Battle of the Books (OBOB). OBOB is a statewide voluntary reading motivation and comprehension program sponsored by the Oregon Association of School Libraries in conjunction with a Library Services and Technology Act grant. Fourth and Fifth Grade Teams from ISP each read a total of 16 books, and were then quizzed on the content at our school tournament.
We ended up with not one but two winning teams! A 5th grade team won the overall ISP Championship title. However, since they will be embarking on Capstone, a 4th grade team will be representing us at the Regionals in March!
Congrats, winners! And THANK YOU to all who participated – including our parent team leaders. Everyone read a lot of books and worked really hard!
5th Grade Winners (School Champions): Ellie, Julia, Midori, Harper, and Maia
4th Grade Winners (Heading to Regional Tournament): Masato, Liam, Raina, and Umei
