Cross Country sweeps competition, again!

Although Coach Robert insists his running program is more about development for the love of running rather than the results of competition, his runners from ISP love competing at running.   He entered four full teams and came away from the Dragonslayer Championship Cross Country Meet on 10/20/16 with three First Place trophies and one Second place trophy!

Leading in style were the Boys Fifth grade team.  Consisting of Bridger A.(running up a grade and distance), Patrick D, Spencer L, Bishop M, Wyatt N, Andrew T, and Nicholas W attained a perfect score in the 5th/6th grade 2000 meter.  You cannot score better than 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th place in a four-man team.   They managed two more in the top ten, taking 7th and 8th place as well.  If they ran as a 6th grade team, they would have won that race as well!   To give an idea as to how fast they run, Spencer L won the 5th grade race with a time of 7:23.13 for the 1.24 mile, 2000 meter race.   In perspective, over the last 12 years, the fastest on track mile by any ISP student has been 6:03.  Spencer averaged 5:57 per mile for his mile and quarter run.  Wow!!

  • Girls Fifth grade, not a complete team:  Morgan M and Nola M
  • Girls Fourth Grade were Awarded 2nd Place:  Mia B, Bitsy C (running up a grade), Neve E, Lucy R
  • Boys Third Grade were First Place:  Joe Denny (2nd grade), Lafayette H (1st grade), Sam H, Masato Gr, Sam L (2nd), Beck N, Grayson M (2nd).
  • Girls Third Grade were First Place: Morgan B, Leona C, Daniela N (2nd), Naomi M, Eloise R (2nd), Sylvia T, Mei T, Celine W.

ISP students striving and achieving excellence! Congratulations, everyone! Great job, Coach Rob!
