ISP Spanish Program Recognized in National Competition
International School of Portland has been awarded 4th place in the International Spanish Academies’ (ISAS) 2016 Academic Excellence in Spanish Competition! International Spanish Academies are part of an international cooperation educational project between public schools in US and Canada and the Spanish Ministry of Education, Social Policy and Sport (MEPSYD)
The contest, overseen by the Government of Spain’s Ministry of Education, recognizes North American K-12 schools for excellence in the implementation of an integrated learning methodology of content and language in Spanish. International School of Portland was the only private school recognized out of the seven elementary, middle, and high schools on the list.
Maria Abad, Head of Early Childhood, will travel to the Spanish Embassy in Washington, DC to accept our award. Two Spanish-track teachers will also be given a two-week scholarship to Spain this summer for professional development! Finally, we will be awarded an intern teaching assistant who will stay with us during the 2016-17 school year.
Congratulations, Spanish Track teachers!!
