5th Grade Capstone Study Abroad Update!

Our Spanish and Chinese track 5th graders are off on their Capstone Study Abroad trips! The two-week Capstone Study Abroad program serves as the ultimate capstone to an ISP education, enabling students to validate their language proficiency and cultural understanding through real world experience. The program also helps 5th graders cultivate their growing confidence and independence as they prepare for middle school.

Like their Japanese track counterparts, who had their Capstone trip to Japan in the Fall, the Chinese and Spanish tracks will spend the first week attending school with local students. On the second week, they will be visiting important historic and cultural sites and engaging in local traditions and customs.

This year, the destinations are as follows:
Spanish: Saltillo and Puerto Vallarta, Mexico
Chinese: Suzhou, Shanghai, Xi’an and Beijing, China
Japanese: Hachinohe, Sapporo, Hokkaido, and Tokyo, Japan
The program is included in the cost of tuition and all program-related expenses are funded by International School of Portland.

We will be sharing photos and videos of the Capstone Study Abroad trips over the next few weeks. We hope that you are having a great time, 5th graders!

Global Kids After-School Enrichment Clubs: Enrollment is Now Open!

Our After-School Enrichment Clubs are gearing up for their third trimester! These clubs are inspired and led by the teachers and staff here at ISP, who are excited to share their hobbies, interests, and skills with our students outside of the classroom! Join us after school from 3:30-4:45 to code and create in Lego Robotics, act, write, and perform in Theater, learn yoga, and play fun games! For more information, including schedule and club offerings for Spring term, see the Global Kids page.

Registration for Spring Enrichment Clubs is available on Campsite.

Please reach to Global Kids with any questions about enrollment or our program: globalkids@intlschool.org
