Spirit Week (Sept 26 – 30th)
Monday: Fancy Day! Get dressed like you are going out to a special party! (Pssst – It’s also School Picture Day!)
Tuesday: Sporty Day! Dress up as in your favorite sports gear or favorite team jerseys and paraphernalia
Wednesday: Wacky Day! Wear a silly hat, or scramble up those clothes! Let’s see some Troll hair!
Thursday: Beach Day! Bring your beach attitude with beach hats, sunglasses, sunscreen on the nose – you name it!
Friday: School Spirit Day! Show off your ISP pride with your school t shirt or other gear! Make some wings and dress like Owly the mascot!

Picture Day is next Monday!

Picture Day is this Monday, September 26th (it’s also “Fancy Day” for ISP Spirit Week)!

Order forms should have gone home with your child. Please check backpacks! Pre-orders for picture packages may also be placed online by visiting dorianstudio.com and searching for “International School of Portland.” Your online order can be placed before and up to four (4) days after picture day. For order accuracy, please return your completed envelope on picture day for all payment types.

You are not required to purchase a photo package. However, we will be photographing every student for internal record-keeping purposes.

PICTURE RETAKE DAY: Tuesday, November 15th. If your child is absent on September 26th due to the observance of Rosh Hashanah, please plan on having your child’s photo being taken on November 15th. We will send a reminder to all families whose students did not attend on Sept 26.

**Does your child not attend ISP on Mondays? Please contact us about scheduling a time to come in that day!***

Hispanic Heritage Month

ISP is celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month, which runs from September 15th through October 15th. Dating back to 1968, Hispanic Heritage Month honors contributions by people of Hispanic identity. AT ISP, we’re excited to celebrate the diverse cultures and countries within our Spanish Track and school community at large!

On Friday, October 7, the ISP Parent Network, in coordination with several of our Spanish track teachers, will be hosting a special Hispanic Heritage Month celebration! The event will be held during the school day so that all students can enjoy the festivities, and will involve music, snacks, and other activities. More information will be coming shortly, including opportunities for parents to volunteer!

Grandparents at ISP

There are many ways for grandparents to be engaged in their students’ education here at the International School of Portland! Grandparents play a vital role in our community as loving supporters of our students and their education.

Grandparents are invited to participate as volunteers at ISP and we host a special Grandparent Tea in May. We have a special web page just for our grandparents (www.intlschool.org/ispgrandparents) as well as an email newsletter, The Globe, where we share exciting news about ISP.

If you would like your students’ grandparents to receive special ISP event invitations and receive The Globe, our email newsletter just for grandparents, fill out this form and we will make sure to add them to our mailing list.
