PBIS Update

During the 2014-15 school year, a team made up of teachers across tracks, specialties, and grades developed our school’s specific PBIS (Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports) program. This fall they have begun rolling out the program to our community. Teachers work on their PBIS tools through regular staff sessions. A range of topics are covered and discussed, including classroom management techniques, and proactive techniques to managing challenging behaviors.

Students are also aware of PBIS. They know ISP’ Universal Expectations, and how they apply to the classroom, in the hallway, and on the playground. You may have noticed our “Universal Expectations” and “Voice Levels” posters placed around the school now.

Please take a look – they are not only for students but also faculty, parents and the community!

Feel free to ask your child or their teacher more about PBIS. Thank you for your support!
