News from Maria Abad

Dear Parents,

Our February ISP: Totally Loved Campaign has me reflecting on what I love most about this school. I’ve been at International School of Portland for twenty years now and love so many different pieces of what makes ISP special, but two things always rise above the others – our kids and our community.

I love working with our kids because in each of them I see the future of our country and a better world. I believe that one of the best investments we can make as a community is in our children and our children’s education. Each of our students has the potential to succeed and to make the world a much better place if they are given the opportunity to take risks, learn from their mistakes, experience new things, and find joy and excitement in learning.

All of the above can be achieved at ISP because we have an amazing community of parents, grandparents, nannies, teachers, staff members and friends who share the same passion and mission for nurturing and educating well-rounded global citizens. I love our community because people never hesitate to come together to show their support for our students and school.

Please join me this month in making ISP and our community stronger by sharing your love. You can do this in two important ways. Take a moment to complete our annual all-parent survey. This survey provides valuable feedback on everything from your child’s learning experience to school safety. Then, please make an Annual Giving contribution. Your gifts support what we love most about ISP by supplementing our operating budget for classroom resources, professional development for teachers, and tuition assistance for families that need some extra help. Both of these small gestures will have a big impact on our students every day.

Thank you for your participation and for being a special part of this community! And thank you so much to everyone who has already made a donation this school year – click here for the list.
