After teaching abroad, my family and I wanted to repatriate to be closer to our family, but still maintain the international mindedness and cultural immersion we had experienced overseas.  I couldn’t believe when I found the International School of Portland – a truly “I can have it all!” moment.  I have felt so supported and encouraged as a new team member – the kindness and patience that the ISP community has shown has been greatly appreciated.  When I am not at work I love spending time outside, hiking, camping, and kayaking.  I love to cook with my husband, Aly, and read books with my son, August.  We are so grateful we found our way to Portland.

I’m so honored to be joining ISP as our very first school counselor! Central to my job is the belief that a child’s social and emotional growth is an essential part of a successful education. Whether through guidance lessons, one-on-one check-ins, or small group activities, my role as the counselor is to build trusting relationships with students to support them in their journey to becoming healthy, empathetic, and resilient members of their community. I’m thrilled to join ISP’s mission in providing a holistic and inclusive education to all students.

I worked with children in several capacities (au pair/ nanny, camp counselor, ESL tutor, reading assistant) before earning my Master of Education and becoming a national board-certified counselor. Originally from St. Louis, I worked as an elementary and middle school counselor outside Kansas City, Missouri, before relocating to Portland to live closer to family.

Current obsessions: bike riding, K-Pop, tennis, and Portland weather. All-time favorites: musical theatre, yoga, and my pug George.
