Japanese Capstone Blog 2022: March 13th & 14th

Days 0 and 1: P Collected by Yukako Owen

Aloha!

Greeting from Japanese track capstone group from Waikiki! First of all, Japanese track students and families truly appreciate ISP admin, capstone coordinators, Taka sensei and everyone who made this Capstone trip 2022 happen! Due to strict covid restrictions in Japan, it was unfortunate we could not go to Japan; however, Taka sensei’s 5th graders had been so excited for this trip, lots of laugh and smiles, we can not express enough our gratitude that we were able to start our trip. Here are some comments from 5th grader students on prior to the trip.

The thought of going to Hawaii is very exciting. When I get there, I want to see an active volcano, swim in the ocean and maybe see native animal to Hawaii. (By Eva)

When I go to Hawaii, I want to learn about Japanese immigration and World war II Perl Harbor Attack. I also want to see wild see turtles and looking forward to eating Hawaiian food. (By Enzo)

I am going to Hawai. I am really excited for the trip. I want to learn more about Hawaii’s history, and I am excited to go to Perl Harbor and do snorkeling. It’s shame we could not goy to Japan, but unlike last year, at least we get to go somewhere. (Michael)
