In order to initiate the Strategic Planning process, a Strategic Planning Group (SPG) has been meeting for the past few months. This group consists of parents, grandparents, administrators, faculty, and members of the Board of Trustees.
After many hours of intensive work sessions, the SPG has created DRAFT updated Values, Mission, & Vision statements for the school, as well as a DRAFT list of High Level Goals. The SPG reaffirmed the thinking behind the original Mission Statement developed by school founders Douglas and Frey Stearns in 1990.
- The content of the DRAFT Values, Mission, & Vision statements will be familiar to TIS community members. However, the statements are bolder and more concise.
- High level goals are broad statements about what we must accomplish in order to achieve our Vision. We can have short-term and long-term goals. In order to be successful in achieving our Vision, our goals must be clear and measurable. The High Level Goals are organized by the eight categories in our current Strategic Plan. By next spring, we will align those categories with those recommended by Northwest Association of Independent Schools (NWAIS)
We would greatly appreciate your feedback about these draft statements and goals. Please click here to answer a survey about these items. The survey is lengthy; allow 20-30 minutes. Complete the survey for a chance to win a TIS insulated wine/picnic tote valued at $85!
