Welcome Back from the TIS Parent Network!

Welcome Back, Students and Parents!

On behalf of your TIS Parent Network, we hope everyone had an enjoyable summer break!  We're sure that great memories were made and we're equally sure that parents are looking forward to returning to a regular routine!  Let us help you make that routine extraordinary this school year for your kids and our community of parents, staff and teachers.  How does that happen?  It's simple - just be informed and involved!  Here are three easy ways to get started!

In conjunction with the grand opening of Learners' Hall and classroom visits, the Parent Network invites you and your kids to join us on the Main Campus Playground for facts and fun! Parents can visit the Parent Information Fair and learn all about volunteer opportunitiesafter-school care/activities and lunch options!  While you browse, kids can enjoy live music by Micah and Me Rocks (Showtime: 10:00 to 11:00) and free popsicles!  Stick around because at 11:00, we play Douse the New Principal Bodo Heiliger - a water balloon game that is sure to make him feel particularly welcome!

If you can’t make it to the Parent Information Fair, never fear!  You can find out all about volunteering at TIS by visiting, http://www.intlschool.org/volunteer/.   We need every parent or family to lend a hand! There is something for everyone with every schedule – guaranteed!  If you have trouble finding what might fit for you, please contact us at parentnetwork@intlschool.org and we’ll help get you connected.

Attend one of our monthly meetings, look out for special presentations during the year or take a deeper dive into the action by joining the Parent Network Steering Committee.  We are looking for dedicated parents to fill several open positions for the coming school year including Secretary and Gear Store Coordinator. If you are interested in hearing more about these and other positions, contact Parent Network Coordinator, Heidi Evans at parentnetwork@intlschool.org

Our staff and teachers make this school effective, our kids make this school worth it and our parents make this school great! This year, resolve to be an active part of this amazing community. There are so many new friends and parents who are working hard and looking forward to getting to know you.  If I can help at all, don’t hesitate to contact me or any member of the Parent Network Steering Committee atparentnetwork@intlschool.org.

Have a great 2016-2017 school year!

Heidi Evans, Parent Network Coordinator
