Heartfelt Farewells

As the school year closes, it is inevitable that some of our faculty and staff will move on to other opportunities. Maria Lira, 2nd grade Spanish teacher, Angela Tran, Assistant to Head of School, and Angela Duran, Spanish PreK teacher, will not be joining us in the fall.  We will miss them all very much. Best of luck to you on your future endeavors.

Below are farewells from Maria Lira and Angela Tran; we hope to have a note from Angela Duran soon.

Dear parents,

It is with mixed feelings that I have decided to leave TIS to pursue new professional goals in immersion education. During the last fourteen years at TIS, I have had the priveledge to meet amazing students, parents, and colleagues. I have loved watching my students grow as responsible and caring individuals. Thank you for all your support and love!

Sincerely yours, Maria Lira

It is with heavy heart that I am writing to you, my TIS family, farewell.  After 4 enriching and memorable years at TIS, my time has come to leave my 2nd home and comfort zone to venture out to new adventures and challenges.  I have accepted an Office Specialist position with City of Portland, Bureau of Emergency Communications.

It’s been great interacting and knowing each one of you, and I really appreciate having had this wonderful opportunity to work with everyone of you and being apart of such an unique community. I hope everyone enjoys a relaxing Summer and a great 2016-2017 school year!
