The English Department’s Parent Mentoring program is looking for more volunteers so that we can serve additional students who are candidates for the program.
The Parent Mentoring program matches committed parent volunteers with individual students whom teachers would like to provide with extra help. For the current school year, the program is limited to the English Department. One-on-one mentoring sessions take place outside of the English classroom, but during the school day. The teacher sets the curriculum, but the session between the parent and child is something of a cross between tutoring and mentoring. The three-way system helps to propel the student to the next level and makes a huge difference in his or her confidence. It is also a very fulfilling experience for the volunteer! Mentors commit to working with a student for half an hour a week.
For more information about the program and, please email Sloane Lamb at email@example.com
Admissions Ambassadors - Applicant Contacts
We would like a pool of parents to reach out as contacts to applicant families. We are hoping that current TIS parents can email applicant families to offering to share their experiences about the school. We are hoping to create a large group of parents for this to spread the work around.
To volunteer or for more information, please email the Parent Network at firstname.lastname@example.org
