The English Department is pleased to announce its new Parent Mentoring program. The Parent Mentoring program matches committed parent volunteers with individual students whom teachers would like to provide with extra help. For the 2014-15 school year, the program will be limited to the English department. Mentoring sessions will take place outside of the English classroom, but during the school day. The teacher sets the curriculum but the session between the parent and child is something of a cross between tutoring and mentoring. The three-way system helps to propel the student to the next level and makes a huge difference in his or her confidence. It is also an incredibly fulfilling experience for the volunteer!
