Library Reading Challenge Update!

TIS students are amazing readers!  It is endlessly gratifying to see the smiles on their faces when they turn in the completed challenge forms. If your child is still in need of a hard-to-get book, a challenge form or encouragement, please email, call or stop by the library to see me.  Spring break is right around the corner and a great time to catch up!  I am happy to set aside books for your child to take home over the break, if available.

Oregon Reader's Choice Award (ORCA): April 2
Beverly Cleary (BCCCA): April 12

Voting will take place during library or English classes.  ORCA readers will vote this week (5th graders voted before they left for Capstone) and BCCCA readers will vote the week of April 2.  Students who read at least two books are eligible to vote.

Award Parties. The BCCCA party for LK-3rd grade will take place in the gym on April 18, 1-2:30 pm. This event will be an ice cream carnival as in previous years.

The ORCA party for grades 4-5 only will take place on April 12 in the gym from 2-3 pm.  This event will be a Character Tea hosted by the students.  Students will dress and interact with each other, parents and teachers as one of the characters from an ORCA book.  Parents are cordially invited to attend!

Parent Volunteers

10 parent volunteers are needed for the BCCCA party.  Please let me know if you can help.

Thanks for encouraging and guiding your children to become awesome readers! Please feel free to contact me with any questions.
