Reading with your child is one of the most important things parents can do to build literacy skills in their children. This year the TIS Library will sponsor its first Early Childhood reading event.
Parents are asked to read at least one book (any book, any language) with their children once daily for 14 days in a row. Colorful leaves will be available in the reception areas at the Arthur Street and Hilltop buildings for you to take home. After you read each book, record your child's name on a leaf and return it to the basket in the reception area of your building. These leaves will be used to grow trees for each grade.
A special assembly will be held to award certificates to all the readers. How big can we grow these trees?
Please let me know if you have any questions.
