Alfonso's update - 4/4

Dear Friends,
It is good to be back and to see all of you again as well as the wonderful teachers and students. And look, we turned around and April happened.

Thank you so much to the 278 parents who have completed the all-parent survey so far. Your input and feedback is very important. If you haven't done the survey yet, please take just 10 minutes and go to right now. We will leave the survey open until late Wednesday night to see if we can surpass last year's record of 299 (this year we have more families, so let's do it.)

I just checked the Mercy Corps site and our donations have reached $5,780. The people of Japan, especially those who live near the reactors, have a very hard road ahead of them. Efforts like ours may ease their burden just a bit.

If you haven't yet returned your contracts, please make sure to do so as soon as possible and let us know your plans for next year. The deadline in April 11.

Like every week at TIS, we have a busy week ahead. This week we will have three informational mornings for parents of students currently in Pre-K, Low-K, and K on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday mornings respectively. On these mornings parents will have a chance to learn about the next grade’s class and curriculum and observe classes or talk to teachers first hand.

Tomorrow at 1:00 we will be visited by the Poet Laureate of Oregon, Paulann Peterson. Ms Peterson will hear readings first from the Grade 1 and 2 students and then from the grade 3-5 students.

Thursday evening there will be a Board Meeting in the music room at Stearns Hall, and all are welcome to attend for the open session part of the meeting.

And on Friday and Saturday there will be an estate sale which benefits TIS as well as other organizations. Details are given below.

Have a great week,
Alfonso, 503-226-2496 x109
