TIS grad raising money for service project in Africa

From TIS Graduate Toryn Slater, Class of 2002

This summer, I will be traveling on a service trip to Capetown, South Africa with 9 other Boston College students. We will spend most of our time working at the Linawo Children's Home, which provides care to orphaned children.

We are soliciting donations to help fund our trip. If you would like to make a donation, we will send you an online cookbook with nearly 50 pages of our group members' favorite recipes, including a selection kindly donated by my grandmother, Beth Gerber, and my mom, Laurie Slater.

Please make checks payable to “Boston College,” write "Toryn Slater TIS" on the comment line, and send them to: Boston College Lynch School of Education, Campion 104, Chestnut Hill, MA 02467.  Please also email us at safricaexperience@gmail.com and we will email you the cookbook.

All donors will be gratefully acknowledged in writing by Boston College and sent a receipt for a tax deduction. Please contact either me or our director, Associate Dean John Cawthorne, if you have any questions. The phone number at the Lynch School of Education is 617-552-4204. Click here for more information about our trip.
