Japan Capstone blog - 3/5 & 3/6

from Taka-sensei, March 6

We send Kyle to his home-stay family yesterday. We met both families and the principal and vice-principal. I am relieved because they all seem so nice and friendly. Kyle enjoys his school life in Japan. Everything is new and fun. The Japanese kids at the host school are so nice and well-mannered. No worries about the host family and the school kids at all.

Ryan has just joined us today. He still has a bad cough, so he wears a mask now.

From mom Jennifer's Facebook posts, 3/5 and earlier:
Friday: Sitting in our hotel room in Sapporo! Wow! Finally made it! That last flight from Tokyo to Sapporo, then the train ride was ROUGH! Ryan slept right through the takeoff in Tokyo AND LANDING in Sapporo! ...so did I! I've never seen a plane empty so fast, or rode on a train so smooth -- like a sled on ice. What fun!! Photos tomorrow. Too tired tonight... er...5:45am in PDX.
