  • The library is fortunate to have a dedicated six-member committee.

  • The popular graphic novel series Bone by Jeff Smith has the highest circulation of any item in the library.

Some Fun Library Events - volunteers needed!

  • Dr.Seuss' birthday is March 2. We will celebrate with a birthday cake in the Library during lunchtime.  Everyone is invited--students, staff and parents--but in order to get a piece of cake you must recite at least 4 lines from a Dr. Seuss book. 2-4 parent volunteers are needed to coordinate and staff this event.  Please contact Tamara if you can help asap.

  • The Beverly Cleary Children's Choice Award Challenge Party is scheduled for the afternoon of April 15.  This will be a big party held in the TIS gymnasium (Thanks Coach Robert!) with a reading certificate presentation, ice cream, carnival games, and prizes.  Parent volunteer and library committee member Chris Higgins has graciously offered to coordinate the event.  We will need many volunteers!  Please email Chris at if you can help; the more, the merrier and your kids will love you for it!

  • A big thank you to TIS parent Charles Grant who has been staffing the circulation desk Monday and Wednesday afternoons. Unfortunately for us, new work duties are calling and Charles will no longer be able to volunteer regularly.  A replacement is needed for the rest of the school year.  Please contact Tamara if you can commit to volunteering on Mondays and Wednesdays from 1:30-3:00. This is a fun way to get to know the students and staff, as well as be the first to get your hands on new arrivals.

Have a great week voracious readers!
