Auction News

l        Thanks to those who have purchased tickets for the upcoming auction this Saturday evening at Montgomery Park. Doors open at 6:00, at which time 75 "Golden Tickets" will be sold for $100 each on a first come basis. The winner of the "Golden Ticket" drawing will have the opportunity to choose any item from the live auction.

l        There is a wonderful selection of items available, in both the silent and live portions of this year's auction. Vacation packages (France, Italy, and Hawaii), home cooked gourmet dinners, art, and priceless classroom projects are just a sampling of the offerings. Please see for pictures of the class baskets/projects that were on display last Monday during the auction preview show. Thanks to all the parents who spent many hours facilitating these beautiful items as well as to Cheryl Meloy, who once again spearheaded this effort. I believe this may be one of the most impressive selections I've seen.

For those of you who purchased tickets to the preview cocktail party, the festivities will begin at 5:00. Complimentary beer, wine and a signature cocktail (Chuck Woolery) will be served to all auction attendees accompanied by hors d'oeurves and a dinner buffet.

l        The "Wall of Wine" will be back with a great selection of white and red wines as well as a raffle for a weekend getaway for two to the Inn at Otter Crest on the Central Oregon coast.

I am looking forward to seeing all of you on Saturday.

Green Committee

l       This very important committee is now up and rolling. It will be focusing on a few key issues this year that can positively impact our community. These include use of the garden, alternative transportation, reduce/reuse/recycle, earth week, healthy schools (snacks, cleaning products, etc), and solar use.  Please contact me at if you are interested in getting involved with this group.

PTO Meeting

l        We are busy planning our agenda for your next PTO meeting on Wednesday, November 12th, at 6:30 in the gymnasium.  Art Pearce, project manager from PDOT, will be present to update the community about the current projects under evaluation through the North Macadam Transportation Strategy. Erika Kohn, IB specialist, will present information and answer questions about the current implementation of the primary years program (PYP). Other topics will include an update by the facilities committee on the slope between the Modular classroom and the main playground as well as the rollout of the new communication plan that Dr. Grasmuck and Linda Bonder have developed. We hope to see everyone there.

Please feel free to contact me or any other PTO officer with questions and/or feedback.
