PreK is working on improvising simple melodies with our little friend from Ariosoland. He is a Dalmatian puppy who only communicates by singing simple melodies on the syllable 'bum.'
It is great watching the children open up and feel comfortable singing solos. We are working on steady beat and pitch by singing a song, "This is What I Can Do." It is a simple so-mi-la melody where the students get to show the class how they keep the beat. Everyone gets a turn to lead the class in this beat keeping activity.
A recent scarf game this week is singing, "Here We Go 'Round the Mulberry Bush." The children really love the part where we "hang the clothes" and place the scarves on our heads. Recent books have included another Old Lady classic There Was an Old Lady Who Swallowed Some Books and The Bear Went Over the Mountain.
I hope ya'll have a wonderful spring break!
