PreK is moving and grooving lately while dancing like animals and singing silly songs. Our animal dances are allowing us to practice using our high, middle and low spaces. This is also a great way to reinforce body control, gain exposure to varying genres and work on group collaboration. We are really having fun practicing our high and low voices with scarves and little stories like Big Pig, Big Pig and Mr. Wiggle and Mr. Waggle. These high and low voice activities also give us a chance to talk about our singing voice verses our speaking voice.
The books we have been singing through recently include Down by the Bay and Old McDonald. We have been playing instruments while singing Hickory Dickory Dock and getting into the festive Valentine's Day mood with songs and games like Do You Know My Valentine? and Who Will Be My Valentine? The latter is a cute game where students pass out little hearts to each other. I hope everyone enjoyed our recent snow storm and that ya'll have a great President's Day!
