Hello! October is coming to a close and we are having fun in PreK music! I like to incorporate different books into each lesson but instead of reading we sing the books. This month the students have enjoyed singing about a little old lady who swallowed leaves as well as stories about spiders, monsters and skeletons. Steady beat for October has included walking around like monsters and making our steps sound like one person. Fall is a great time to pull out the scarves and do movement activities with songs and skits about leaves blowing around the classroom. One of our major highlights this month has been an exuberant rhyme about five little pumpkins. Autumn is one of my favorite times of the year and it has been a great beginning to the school year with my amazing students. I’m excited for all the fun activities coming up!
