Growing up I always knew I wanted to be an Artist or a Teacher. I realized in high school after being taught by a wonderfully fun, dynamic and creative Art Teacher that I would be most happy combining the two professions. I love what art can do for people of all ages, but I especially love helping kids find and cultivate their creative minds. I’m blessed to have the amazing job of encouraging young people find their own way of expressing themselves through visual arts. I greatly value the importance of teaching students to try their best. It is so rewarding to see them experience pride in creating something with their hands and hearts.
I love that I’ve been able to grow up in Oregon and am happy that I’ve had the chance to appreciate the outdoors by camping, fishing, hiking with my husband and our giant Chocolate Lab, Brutus. I am looking forward to being a part of the TIS community! If you see me around campus, say hello and help me learn your name!
