The Owl 5/15/23

ISP Annual Book Fair!

Summer is almost here…. our annual Book Fair is coming back!

ISP Book Fair
June 6-9, outside the Library
Stop by in the morning from 7:30 to 8:30 AM or at dismissal from 3:00 to 3:45 PM (from 2:00 to 3:00 PM on Wednesday).

Come support ISP and your child’s love for reading! There will be a variety of books in English and Spanish. The school earns 50% of total sales and the profits are used to purchase books for the library and classrooms.

Forms of payment include cash, check, card and eWallet! Go online now and set up an eWallet account with a pre-set spending limit that your kids can use to purchase their own books! It’s free and easy (and fun)! Click on our book fair home page to get started!

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED
We need your help! We are looking for 2 volunteers per shift to help students find books, purchase books, and restock shelves.

For more information, please contact Tomoyo Wells.

It’s HOT! Be Nice to Planet Earth – and Our Lungs – and Please Don’t Idle Your Car!

Are you waiting in line before pick up starts? Please turn off your engines. Idling a vehicle for just one minute produces more carbon monoxide than smoke from three packs of cigarettes.

Regardless of the temperature outside, it is better for the environment to restart than to idle, especially if you have the air conditioning on!

For cars with fuel injection (which includes almost all vehicles built since the late 1980s), idling for even 10 seconds uses more fuel than restarting the engine.

For more information about engine and exhaust pollution, visit: https://www.oregon.gov/deq/aq/Pages/for-Cleaner-Air.aspx

Please Record Your Volunteer Hours!

We’ve had SO many event, field trips, and other school activities, which never would have happened without the help of our wonderful volunteers! Please record your hours so that we know who to thank! Plus, an accurate record of volunteer hours is very important for grant applications and external funding.

Volunteer hours can even be recorded for “educational meetings” like Board Meetings, Info Nights, Student Led Conferences, and more!
Please Record Hours Here!

You can also find the link in MySchool App under the Resources section.

ISP wouldn’t be the great school it is without our volunteers! THANK YOU!

Volunteer of the Year Nominations Wanted!

Every Year, ISP honors 1-2 parent or family member volunteers with its Volunteer of the Year award. It’s time to collect nominations!

Is there a parent or family member who always seems to be helping out at the library, in the classroom, or with other campus activities? Does their support and dedication to helping seem to go above and beyond?

If you have someone you’d like to nominate for 2023 Volunteer of the Year, please submit your name(s) now! It’s just one question, we promise! 🙂

NOMINATE A VOLUNTEER OF THE YEAR!

Thank you for helping us to thank and recognize our volunteer heroes!
