The Owl 2/14/23

WOW! What a weekend!

THANK YOU for Your Support!!!

Thank you to you, our amazing ISP community, who joined us for Better Together, our Global Gala. Together, we raised almost $225,000 (and counting!) for ISP, our teachers and our students.

– Thank you parents, faculty and staff for welcoming each other and welcoming our new families into our community. We hope you all enjoyed the gala and hopefully met new people and made new friends!

– Thank you to our auction chair, Amanda Reaves and to the auction volunteers who helped make the magic happen.

– Thank you to our special entertainment, Side Hustle, with our very own Chris Varley, Alan Bowen, and Grace Knobbe. We have so much talent at ISP and we are grateful for these three sharing their passion and energy and for kicking off one heck of a night!

And thank you for your generous support of our Special Appeal, Playful and Joyful Spaces at ISP.

If you would like to contribute or learn more about how you can help transform our campus, contact Beth Katona.

Save the date for next year – Saturday, February 3, 2024!

Reminder: No School this Friday or Monday!

As a reminder, please note the upcoming No School days:

There will be NO SCHOOL this Friday, February 17th due to Parent Teacher Conferences. Global Kids is available.
There will be NO SCHOOL on Monday, February 20th due to President’s Day.

Enjoy your long weekend!

Sign Up for Parent Teacher Conferences

Parent-Teacher Conferences will be held on Feb 17th. As usual, we are having conferences BEFORE report cards are released.

These conferences are for Homeroom Teachers and Art, Music, & PE Specialists. **Spring conferences with English Specialists are initially by invitation-only, but are now open for general sign up.** You should have received a sign up link for them by now; please reach out to your child’s English teacher if you have not.

Plastic Bag/Film and Marker Recycling at ISP!!

If you have PLASTIC BAGS and FILM that came with your package, we can recycle them! But not in the regular recycle bin.

Please drop them off in the large blue bin by the fridge at Learners Hall, on the same floor as the library.

We are also recycling PENS and MARKERS- drop off bins are located in 1) hilltop by the music room, 2) Large mod, 3) Stearns front desk.

Thanks to ISP Librarian Tomoyo Wells for setting this up! Happy Recycling!

Reminder from the ISP Library

Students in grades K-5 can have up to 5 books checked out from our library. Please help your child remember to bring their library books to return so they can fully enjoy the library during their class visits. If you want to know what books they currently have checked out, you can view their account by visiting the library catalog and clicking on “Log In” from the top right corner.

User name = student email address without the @intlschool.org
Universal password = books.
(If you don’t know your student’s email address, this info can be found in Blackbaud under the “Digital” category)

February Learner Profile Trait: Principled

The ten International Baccalaureate Learner Profile traits are school values, and are means by which to support healthy social and emotional development. Our faculty focuses upon one of them each month.

For February, faculty are focusing on “Principled”

Profile Overview: We act with integrity and honesty, with a strong sense of fairness and justice, and with respect for the dignity and rights of people everywhere. We take responsibility for our actions and their consequences.
