Please welcome Beth and Becky!

We are pleased to introduce Rebecca Quick, our new Global Kids Extended Day Program Manager! Becky has worked with preschool to elementary aged children for over 8 years. Most recently, she has been a Supervising Teacher in Head Start, where she has spent the past five years. Becky has her degree in Cultural Anthropology with a minor in Business Administration from the University of Oregon.

Becky’s education and professional skills has also given her a solid background in the diversity of cultural experiences, child development, education, and general administrative work.

When Becky is not working, she enjoys cultivating many plants as one of her hobbies. She is excited to be at Global Kids and at the International School of Portland!

Welcome, Becky!

We are excited to announce the arrival of our new Director of Development, Beth Katona! She has deep knowledge and experience in philanthropy. She has raised funds and led in organizations both small and large serving communities throughout Oregon and the United States. Most recently, Beth served as the Development Director of Start Making a Reader Today (SMART), where she spent nine years in various development, fundraising, and grant production capacities.

A common theme of Beth’s work has been a commitment to providing leadership to create change—change in the children served, change in support of the staff of the organization, and change resulting in more effective, impactful, and inclusive organizations.

We aren’t exactly “welcoming” Beth anew, as she has been involved with the International School of Portland for over 12 years already! She also absolutely loves ISP and has two alums, Kate and Liam from the Japanese track. She has also remained closely connected to the school as Trustee until this past June, where she served as chair of our External Affairs Committee. She also has been a member of our Japanese Track Strategy Committee!

Congratulations on your new role at ISP, Beth!

Our Global Citizens Annual Fund has launched. Help us reach our $50,000 matching challenge and 100% parent participation!

Your gift to the Global Citizens Annual Fund will go to work immediately in support of our students and teachers and will inspire kindness, curiosity and intelligence.

You can donate HERE or by cash or check dropped off at any front desk or at the Arthur Admin Building.

Why give? Because philanthropy at ISP provides experiences above and beyond what tuition alone can cover. About 6% of our operating budget every year is thanks to philanthropic contributions.

  • Stearns Hall lobby
  • Learners Hall (under the stairs on the main floors)
  • Hilltop (outside the music room).

Please check in at Stearns Hall or Hilltop and then take a look!

Please label jackets, sweaters and water bottles with names, rather than initials, so we can get items to back their owners!
