Please Congratulate our new Head of Professional Learning!

After sifting through over 100 applicants from around the world and multiple interviews, we are proud to announce that our very own Kelly Rogers has been chosen to become our new Head of Professional Learning at the Spear Center for Excellence in Teaching. Our interview panel agreed that Kelly embodies exactly what we hope for in the future of the Spear Center!

Kelly shares:

“I am thrilled to be stepping into the new position of Head of Professional Learning at the International School of Portland and the Spear Center! During the last four years as PYP Coordinator at ISP, I have seen firsthand the benefits of a multicultural, inquiry-based, and language immersion education for students. I am excited to take on the task of connecting ISP to the wider, global world, to shine a light on the wonderful things happening at the school, and to facilitate continued professional growth at ISP and beyond.

As we have all experienced over the past several years, Kelly has stepped up to any challenge with positivity and determination and has been a colleague we can all rely on. Kelly sees the possibilities of ISP and the Spear Center, and we truly cannot think of a better person to take on this new role!

Please help me congratulate Kelly! She’s currently in Mexico with the Spanish track 5th Graders next week, so make sure you give her a high-five when she returns!

Spanish Track Capstone is underway!

ISP fifth graders in Spanish Track are on their Capstone Study Abroad trip this week. They are spending time in the state of Nayarit, near Puerto Vallarta. So far they have taken a cooking class, made tortillas, learned about native pottery, explored the land and culture, and more!

More updates to come!
