The Owl 3/2/22

Important Note from WVT Labs

IMPORTANT INFORMATION for those of you who use WVT Labs (nasal swab tests) for PreK, LowK, and adult Covid-19 testing. WVT has sent us the following notices:

If you have taken WVT PCR nasal swab test kits home and have not yet used them, please check the date of expiration! Some of them will expire soon. The tube with colored liquid can be thrown in the regular trash. The other contents are still good. You can get replacements at Stearns Hall. Please see the image above on where to find the expiration date. It is listed YYYY, MM, DD.

WVT Labs will now be rejecting any samples that do not have initials/name and DOB written on the tube. Having these patient identifiers on your test tube is extremely important for processing your tests and is a part of their accreditation. Please be sure to write the name and birthdate of the patient on all samples!!

Thank you for your attention to this matter!

Welcome to Moving for Music and Arts! Our annual fun run will take place this year on April 27 and 28. All proceeds from this popular event benefit our music and art classes at the International School of Portland, supporting their entire annual budget for materials and programming.

Our MMA logo contest starts now! We are asking our students to get their creative juices flowing and design the 2022 Moving for Music and Arts logo that will be featured on posters and other event elements. This is our third year for this fun and creative tradition.

Logo contest entry requirements:
· Logos must be no more than 2 colors (in addition to black and white)
· Logos must highlight elements from both art and music
· Logos must be submitted on paper no larger than 8 ½” by 11”
· Entries are due no later than March 16, 2022

Submissions are due by Wednesday, March 16 and can be turned in by dropping them off with the student’s homeroom teacher. The logo contest winner will be announced on March 28.

Watch for more information coming soon via The Owl and email. Let’s get moving! Contact Events Coordinator Rebecca Roberts for questions or more information on this year’s event.

Grandparents and Special Friends Event – Coming in May!

The ISP Grandparent and Special Friends event is coming soon!

This exciting community event for ISP students and their grandparents and/or special friends is held annually every May. In the past we have hosted our guests for a sit-down tea. Last year we celebrated the art of storytelling in a virtual event format. We are hoping to bring this event back to campus safely on May 9, 2022.

Grandparents and special friends will receive an invitation to this event soon but, in order to receive an invitation, we need to make sure we have contact information. To add a grandparent or special friend to our mailing list, please use this form.
