The Owl 1/12/22

REMINDER: No School this Friday or Monday!

There will be no school for students this Friday, January 14th (Faculty In-Service Day) and Monday, January 17 (Martin Luther King Jr Day). Global Kids is full for this Friday (and closed Monday).

TOMORROW: Parent Network Monthly Meeting

The ISP Parent Network’s mission is to strengthen, enhance and encourage the educational and community environment at the International School of Portland. It serves to identify and organize volunteer support at ISP. Just as importantly, it aims to strengthen relationships, communication, and collaboration between parents, faculty, and administrators. Monthly meetings have begun again, and you’re invited! Join us tomorrow to learn more about Parent Network happenings and how to get more involved now or in the future. If you are a current parent at the school, you are already a member of the Parent Network! 🙂

Covid-19 Testing Reminders

Due to the Martin Luther King, Jr. holiday, testing kits should be returned to school on the morning of Tuesday, January 18. PreK and LowK kits will be available for pick up in front of Stearns Hall or distributed to Kinder-5th Grade children on Thursday, January 13.

IMPORTANT REMINDERS:

For PreK and LowK Testing (WVT Labs):
Please make sure to write your initials and DOB on your test tube.
Please make sure to connect your barcode to each Patient profile before sending it back to us as we cannot process tests that are not properly connected. There should be instructions in your test kit that break down how to do this.
Please make sure your specimen is turned into Stearns Hall in the CLEAR bin. Do NOT place these in the coolers, it will go to the wrong lab.

For Kinder-5th Grade students (OHSU):
Pre-made labels have been sent with your pack for your child’s specimen and baggie label. If you lose the label, simply write the full child’s name with date of birth in sharpie on the tube. You will receive a new sheet of labels every 12 weeks.
Please place OHSU specimens into the coolers only! Do not place them in the clear bin at Stearns, it will go off to the wrong lab.

NEW! Testing for adult community members (including parents!)

WVT Labs testing (the same testing that we use for our PreK and LowK students) is now available for adult members of our community, including teachers and PARENTS! This helps to address the long wait times and lack of at-home tests that we all are experiencing at the moment. It is much more convenient to have this testing available for you and adult family members.

If you’d like to receive a test kit for an adult household member:
Request one at the carline on Friday mornings (Thursday for this week) or at the front door of Stearns, if you walk up. Instructions to sign up are in every kit.
Set up an individual patient account on LabDash. Instructions are included with the kits.
Please keep in mind that ISP will be notified of any results that are tied to our program, and we will keep this information completely confidential.

IMPORTANT: Kinder through 5th grade students MUST continue to use OHSU testing and not the kits offered through WVT labs.
