INTERNATIONAL FESTIVAL 2020:
PCC Sylvania: 12000 SW 49th Ave, Portland, OR 97219

PARKING PASSES

Parking Passes are going home in backpacks or lunchboxes TUESDAY. Please check backpacks! Space is limited in the venue!

•   We will have two PCC parking passes for each ISP household (families with parents in separate households will each get two). You will need to put that parking pass on your dashboard, or you WILL get a ticket.

•   Parking spots may be FAR, particularly for shows 2 & 3. Arrive early. Be prepared to walk for 10 MINUTES to get from your car to the theater.  Check your email for PCC campus parking maps.

•   Though you have two passes, try your best to go in one car.

NO CURBSIDE SERVICE ON FRIDAY

At the ISP campus on Feb 7, there will NOT be curbside service due to staff being at the festival. Before & after-school waiting rooms will be open as usual.

HAVE A CHILD IN THE 1:00 SHOW?

•   NEW! School buses will bring all students performing in this show TO and FROM the theater!  If you will be bringing your child home directly from the show, please make that they are CHECKED OUT WITH THEIR TEACHER before leaving.

•   If you have a K-5 sibling not performing in this show, we can bring him/her to the theater on the bus so you don’t have to go back to ISP. Please email sarahl@intlschool.org by WEDNESDAY, FEB 5th – to ensure you get a response before assuming that it will happen.

Thank you, ISP Community!

Wow! Thank you ISP community! You raised your paddles high in support of ISP at Saturday’s auction gala. We are thrilled to be able to share that because of your generous gifts, we raised a record-breaking $465,000 for our students and teachers.

This event would not have been possible without the hard work and creativity of our Auction Chair Lisa Higgins, our emcee Nancy Yen Shipley, and our many wonderful auction volunteers. Thank you!

A special thank you also goes out to our amazing ISP student performers (Sebastian, Ania, Jules and Charlotte) who delighted guests with their Taiko Drum performance, and to our awesome sponsors whose generous support covered all of our event costs. Thank you Miller Family Foundation, LegitScript, Vacasa, Restore PDX, Northwest Dermatology Institute, Shizuku, NorthRim Partners, Duck House, IOTAS Home and Fubonn.

Save the Date – next year’s auction Global Gala will take place on February 6th at The Hilton. We look forward to seeing you there!

Auction Special Appeal Video & News

Included in our auction total listed above is $279,000 for our auction special appeal. This year’s appeal is a direct investment in our ISP students and teachers. Special appeal contributions will provide ongoing support for teacher leadership and professional development through the newly created Deloris A. Spear Teachers Fund at International School of Portland.

A huge thank you to everyone who raised their paddle for the appeal, and especially to alumni parents Don and Ione Spear who created this endowed fund and matched every single special appeal donation made on Saturday night, resulting in that incredible total listed above.

Learn more about how this year’s special appeal will benefit our teachers and students in our special appeal video, featuring ISP students and teachers.

Interested in making a contribution to this year’s appeal? Contact ISP Development Director Lauren R. at 503-226-2496 ext 117 or LaurenR@intlschool.org. The Spear Family is continuing to match gifts to this fund!

IRCO: Last Call for Donations!

Thanks to all of you who have donated items already! If you would still like to donate, please do so by this Friday, Feb 7. There are donation boxes in Stearns, Hilltop, and Learners Hall.

Below is the original letter from the 5th graders:

“Dear Families,

In English class, we read a book called Refugee and learned about conflict and its effect on people’s day to day lives. We also had a presentation by our ISP music teacher, Sarah, who shared her experience working with refugees in a camp in Lesvos, Greece. We were so touched by our learning and we are moved to help refugees as much as we can. We feel sad and frustrated about their situation but we know there is something we can do to help.

There is a local organization called IRCO (Immigrant and Refugee Community Organization). We contacted this organization and they gave us a list of items that we could donate. Would you consider donating an item from the list? Deanna’s 5th grade class will sort the items and send them to IRCO.

Thank you for being open-minded and caring and taking time to listen to us. It feels important for us to take action locally with this global issue. Please see the attached list of donation items. All donations can be left in the labeled boxes on the 5th grade floor or at the entrance of Learner’s Hall.

Sincerely,

Deanna’s Fifth Grade English Class”

Babysitter / Nanny Wanted!

Looking for after school babysitter/nanny for 9-year-old twins! We will need help with pickup after school at ISP  and transporting kids to after school activities on some days, creating activities on others! Spanish speaking would be an amazing asset. Hoping for someone willing to help with homework and help get dinner started with the kids (they are good helpers in the kitchen) ! Looking for Monday through Friday 3-6 with some flexibility. Thanks!
