ISP Admissions Ambassadors Needed

Want to share your love of ISP with prospective families? Become a ISP Admissions Ambassador! Admissions season is now in full swing, and we could use some help with chatting with families who are interested in enrolling their children at the school. Prospective families really value hearing from people like YOU about your family’s experience at the school!

Parents with children in all grades and tracks welcome. You’d get assigned 3-5 families a month to reach out to via email or phone and say hello and offer to answer any questions that they may have. It would take 1-2 hours a month maximum, through May.

For more information about the program, please respond to this email or contact Jan Williams janw@intlschool.org

Emergency Broadcast System – Text Opt In

Thanks for bearing with us as we tested or new Emergency / Weather Closure Broadcast System!  Overall, the test went well. Mass delivery through phone, text, and email offers the best possible chance that you will get the message!  Some parents report getting a text message in Spanish. We are looking into it!

Miss the opt-in Text? Did you get it in Spanish? Send a text to 87569 with the word “Yes” and that will opt you in.

Auction Package Highlight

Come fly in a Comanche Piper!

Enjoy a plane ride for two down the Columbia River Gorge to see Multnomah Falls from the air then head north to take a peek at what Mt. Saint Helens is up to.  View inside the crater and make a complete 360 degree flight around it! This is absolutely spectacular on a clear day. This will be sure to please anyone with the love of flying or someone dreaming of becoming a pilot.

Thank you to ISP Parents Scott and Lisa Brock

School Safety – PDXReporter.org

We are continually monitoring and revising our safety policies and procedures in order to keep our campus safe for all. These are some of the actions that we have taken and are in place already:

  • Daily on-site security patrols in the early morning to prevent or discourage loitering and camps around the school.

  • Our Maintenance Staff does daily sweeps of the grounds.

  • Our safety committee and maintenance staff is in regular correspondence with the Portland Police and other city representatives to increase their awareness of problems in our area.

  • 11 active security cameras throughout campus

  • We have partnered with the South Park Association and Friends of River Place who are doing patrol operations around the clock. ISP parents also engage in bi-monthly clean-up walks to maintain areas around campus and to notify the authorities if there are any problems.

  • The Portland Police office engages in patrol rounds around the neighborhood.

We encourage parents and staff to use PDXreporter.org This is a tool to report campsites, graffiti, needles, etc. Include photos, location and comments where possible. The more complaints they receive, the better the response from the police department. This goes through the Mayor’s office and is taken quite seriously. You can also report camping to reportPDX@PortlandOregon.gov.
