Happy Holidays from International School of Portland!

ISP Spirit Week is Coming Soon!

In collaboration with the ISP Parent Network, we invite all community members to share in some fun and simple daily activities to show off our school spirit. Spirit Week will happen the first full week back, from January 13-16:

  • January 13: Mad Hair Monday
Your weird, silly, and one-of-a-kind hairstyles!
  • January 14: Topper Tuesday
Your chance to show off your favorite hat! Baseball, bucket, beret, fedora, beanie, and more: the choice is yours!
  • January 15: Wacky Wednesday
A day to buck tradition! Mismatched clothes, wearing things backwards, and other unique wardrobe choices
  • January 16: ISP Thursday
Show your school pride with ISP tees, sweatshirts, and other gear!

Collaborative Elementary Meeting

Come chat with Head of Elementary Bodo Heiliger and our English Teachers! They will discuss pertinent issues, as well as answer questions.

1st-5th Collaborative Coffee
Wednesday, January 8th
8-9:00 am
Learner’s Hall

Our focus for this meeting will be on Assessment. Assessment is the means by which schools and teachers measure student learning. It’s a big topic, so we will attempt to break it down into the following sections:

  • Go over the IB’s beliefs on assessment and ISP’ beliefs on assessment
  • Writing rubric: Read a student sample and grade it using the rubric
  • Reading: What do we assess? What are the different questions that we ask?
  • Spelling: What is right about their spelling instead of looking at what is wrong!
