One-Question Survey Sent Out Today

You should have gotten an email today from Maria or Bodo that asks for your participation in a very short survey. It is a simple one-question survey per student in your family. It’s a simple way for you to let us know what we are doing well and where we can improve.   The feedback from this survey helps us to shape our activities and priorities, both school-wide and in specific areas.

It will take no more than a few moments of your time. The more people that participate, the more actionable and valuable the feedback will be to the school.

Please look for the “ISP One Question Parent Survey” email in your inbox! Thank you for your feedback.

ACT Aspire Test Results

Each Spring, 3rd – 5th graders take the ACT Aspire Test. The ACT is a commonly used college readiness exam.  The ACT Aspire test is an elementary-based assessment model that is linked to scores of older students taking the ACT and determined “readiness” benchmarks. It is aligned to the Common Core State Standards (CCSS). Over one million students across the country take the ACT Aspire. At ISP, all 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade students take online tests in English, Math, and Reading.

ISP does not use these ACT Aspire scores for purposes of assessing any individual student or teacher. However, these scores are somewhat valuable as a means by which to compare overall ISP student performance with other schools in the state and nation. The Educational Leadership Team analyzes the data to see trends, areas in which we do well, and areas in need of improvement.

Overall, the percentages of ISP students that meet or exceed these standards is significantly higher than those taking the test nationwide. Below are the school’s overall performance ratings alongside the performance of all students who took the ACT within each grade:

Scores from Spring 2019 – Summative Testing

Please feel free to contact Bodo Heiliger (bheiliger@intlschool.org) or Robert Woods (rwoods@intlschool.org) if you have additional questions.

Help Procure or Donate

Do you have a vacation home, condo or timeshare that would be a great item to add to our auction item menu?  Are you a frequent flyer and have extra airline miles? Do you have exclusive access to a restaurant, winery, sports tickets or other business?  We would love to hear from you. Vacation get-aways, dining and experiential packages are very popular and would help ISP raise valuable funds for our school.  If you have any questions or have something in mind to donate, please contact Rebecca Roberts.

Wine Donations

We are looking for donations of wine valued at a minimum of $20 for our silent auction.  If you would like to donate, please contact Rebecca Roberts to arrange delivery.  Please note that wine cannot be dropped off in any of the school buildings with the exception of the Arthur Administration Building.

2020 Global Gala Volunteer Opportunities

Do you want to help out with the auction and have fun getting to know other ISP parents that you may not otherwise get to meet?  Sign up to help with this important celebration of our community! We are currently looking for volunteers to work on our annual event – during the weeks leading up to February 1 as well as the night of our Gala. Please contact Rebecca Roberts if interested in joining our team.   If you would like to work the night of the event and already know how you would like to participate, you may sign up here.

Volunteer Work Party at ISP Garden – December 7

Winter is coming and with it the slowing of activity in our school’s garden. The First Graders will be cleaning up our garden beds to prepare them for Spring planting by cleaning up finished plants and planting cover crops to prepare the soil.  We would like ISP families to follow up by cleaning up outside of the beds, weeding and pruning, maybe some digging.

Bring your whole family, your gloves and favorite tools (we can also supply).Stay as long as you are able; we appreciate any time you can give!   Bagels and juice always! Saturday, December 7th, 8:30-11:00 AM.

In the Spring, planting is done by the Kindergarteners. Pre-K and Low-K classes are also involved in some planting.  If you are parents of 3 and 4 year olds, we hope you can invest some time in helping our school garden to flourish. Hope to see you on December 7!
