Annual Parent Survey Results

Dear ISP Community,

We would like to thank all the parents who took the time to fill out the annual Parent Survey and the one-question survey this past Spring; we know that giving feedback takes a lot of time! Your survey responses help us to assess how we are doing, and contribute to our goals and priority-setting for the upcoming year.

We are pleased to say that in general parents are overwhelmingly happy about ISP! Across the board, the percentage of “satisfied” and “highly satisfied” parents is in the mid-90th percentile! You agree that your children are receiving an excellent, unique education here, from top-notch teachers.

Other notable changes since last year: significant improvement in satisfaction about communications in English, Art, Music, and PE programs, and positive feedback about community events. Parents seem to be enjoying the addition of SeeSaw, which allows better insight into classroom learning.

Click here for some additional information about the results

Of course, there is always room for improvement. We are working on better communicating our Social Emotional Learning programming, and doing so in a more cohesive and less technical way. There is also a desire for more understanding and feedback about teaching differentiation and  academic and behavioral supports. Despite this progress, we constantly aim to improve communication and feedback across all classrooms. To be continued!

If you have additional questions about the survey, please contact Kat Simons at kats@intlschool.org. Please note that survey feedback about an individual teacher or staff member is confidential and will not be disclosed.

Middle School Open House: A Renaissance School of Arts and Sciences

Hello, families and faculty of International School of Portland!

I’m Adam, the dean of scholars at A Renaissance School of Arts & Sciences. We’ve been so impressed with the children who have visited and come to Renaissance for middle school from ISP, I wanted to personally extend an invitation to all of you for our fall open house on Sunday, November 17th from 12:00-1:30.

Renaissance is a school that values critical thinking and inquiry through hands on work and a demonstration of understanding. We’re working to put children into the world who understand the difference they can make. Please feel free to browse the open house flyer, as well as the information attached about the middle school. Please let us know if you’d like to attend the open house, or to sign up for one of the twice-a-month tours.

Thank you and I hope to see you soon!
