Emergency Preparedness – NET Info & Kit Review

Neighborhood Emergency Teams (NETs) are Portland residents trained by PBEM and Portland Fire & Rescue to provide emergency disaster assistance within their own neighborhoods. NET members are trained to save lives and property until professional responders can arrive. These volunteers are specially trained to help others without putting themselves in harm’s way.

The Downtown NET has upcoming meeting tomorrow (Tuesday) evening 6:15 to 7:45 at the public library.  They can answer general questions about preparedness, the NET program. They also will be reviewing the go-bags of anyone who brings theirs, talking about the pluses and minuses of contents. The meeting will be held in the Bank One room, which is the first door on the right of the first lobby.

If you have questions about joining a NET, please feel free to contact Kat Simons (NET member) Already a NET? Please let Kat know that, too!
