A note from Robert Woods

Dear Parents,

I hope that all of you have had a very enjoyable holiday.  Prior to the break, I was experiencing acute sciatica.  This effects the sciatic nerve and the degree of my condition made it very difficult and painful to move and even sit for any length of time.  During the break, I tried several conservative methods of treatment with no noticeable improvement.

This afternoon in a consultation with my neurosurgeon, we decided that surgery is the next best option given what we have already tried and the level of my condition.  The surgery is scheduled for Monday January 19th.  Fortunately it is an outpatient procedure, so the recovery time is minimal.

Between now and January 19th, I will have short office hours at school but will also be working from home. I will be present at the Accreditation meeting this Thursday morning. The most efficient way to contact me will be via email.

During my absence from campus, Maria Abad will be the acting Head of School.  She will be supported by Ron Young and the rest of the administrative team. I thank you in advance for your understanding and support.  Please feel free to contact me, Maria or Ron if you should have any questions.
