Update from Alfonso – 10/10

Dear friends,

Time to take out your rain boots, but there is no reason we can’t still smile in the morning. I smiled at the Sunday matinee of the Oregon Ballet when I saw ISP student Ethan Myers appear as one of the Street Urchins in Carmen.

We have learned from our friends at Stacey and Whitbeck that Sheridan Street (the small street under the overpass that goes to Moody), will be closed October 10th to October 30th. This is the hard news. We can still come down the ramp from Harbor Drive and we will have to gt out of here by going up Water Avenue and turning onto Naito after the Corbett building. For new folks we have been through this before and survived it. We will again I am sure.

The good news is that On November 1, Sheridan will be open and SW Moody (the street that goes down to OHSU or up toward Naito Parkway) will be open in both directions!

Some parents are trying to get together a campus aesthetics committee, which would work on perhaps trying to beautify the wall that faces us and maybe hanging banners. Please let me know if you are interested in doing some work on that committee.

Friday will be a day off for students as we get our minds around some technology and formative assessment.

Have a peaceful week and see you at the corner,
Alfonso
