Basics
ISB is part of Beaverton Public Schools. It opened in September 2006 with a focus on the International Baccalaureate (IB) program. They have been granted Candidate School status with the International Baccalaureate Organization and are working to become an IB school by the Fall of 2008.
Language options ISB language classes cater to beginners, so it would be a good place for International School students to study a 3rd or 4th language. As their student body grows and advances through the language curriculum, they will offer advanced language studies and core subjects such as social studies in other languages.
Several TIS graduates attend or have attended The International School of Beaverton.

Basics
East/West Sylvan is the Portland Public Schools middle school for the Ainsworth partial-immersion Spanish program. Students who attend the Spanish immersion continuation program at Sylvan are guaranteed space in the Spanish program at Lincoln High School.
Language options
Spanish Track students at Sylvan take language arts and social studies in Spanish, each for 55 minutes every day. International School graduates are placed with their same-grade classmates. If a student’s ability is ahead of others in the class, that student helps teach others and is expected to meet higher standards in his/her work.
East/West Sylvan also offers Chinese language classes which many TIS students attend.
Many International School Spanish Track and Chinese Track graduates attend and have attended East/West Sylvan. The Chinese Track graduate families have hired Chinese teachers who offer beginning and advanced Chinese in the morning before regular classes start. They are working to have Chinese offered as a part of the regular curriculum.

Basics
Hosford is the middle school for the Atkinson Spanish dual-immersion program and for the Woodstock Chinese partial-immersion program. The Atkinson program is half native English-speaking children and half native Spanish-speaking children, so Hosford has much of the same character. Students who attend the Spanish immersion continuation program at Hosford can attend the Spanish continuation program at Cleveland High School. Chinese immersion continuation program students at Hosford can attend the Chinese continuation program at Franklin High School.
