We ask that you walk the extra mile beside us by contributing to the TIS Fund.
What is the TIS Fund?
The TIS Fund is an ongoing effort that provides immediate budgetary support that directly benefits our students and teachers. Your investment in the TIS Fund sustains and improves the school by funding teaching tools, classroom equipment, professional growth opportunities for faculty, campus maintenance, financial aid for socio-economic diversity, Capstone trips abroad for our 5th graders, and other day to day necessities. While being mindful of tomorrow’s needs, the TIS Fund helps ensure that today’s operational requirements are always met.
At The International School, like at most independent schools, tuition does not cover all expenses of educating a child. Your philanthropic support helps to make up the difference and shows you believe in the importance of helping children become world citizens.
We invite all members of the TIS community – parents, alumni, faculty, grandparents, staff, trustees, and friends – to invest in educating children to create a better world.

Whether your annual gift is $25 or $25,000, we value and gratefully receive your gift on behalf of our students. No gift is too small and every gift matters every year.
Your participation counts
You can make a world of difference in the daily educational experiences of our students by contributing to the TIS Fund. Your gift can also result in more donations to TIS. Corporations and foundations often look to the actual number of donors – regardless of gift size – in deciding whether to support TIS. We will gratefully count your gift in all TIS Fund totals and acknowledge your support in our annual report. Our goal is to have 100% of our parents and faculty members go the extra mile.
The deadline to participate in the 2011-12 TIS Fund is June 30, 2012.
Giving is easy and tax-deductible!
Check: Write a check out to “The International School” with TIS Fund in the memo line. Bring it to any TIS receptionists or mail it to the Development Office, The International School,025 SW Sherman Street,Portland,OR 97201.
Credit card: We accept Visa, MasterCard, and American Express. Click the Donate Now Button to donate securely online. For your convenience, we invite you to schedule a monthly, quarterly, or yearly gift to the TIS Fund on your credit card.
Cash: Deliver to any TIS receptionist.
Stocks: Did you know your stock donations to TIS can be both tax-deductible and help you eliminate capital gains taxes? If you would like to donate stock, please contact the Development Director for instructions.
Matching gifts: You may be able to bring your generosity to new levels with a matching gift from your employer. Contact your company’s human resource department to determine if you have a matching gifts program and for additional details.
