Dear Families,

As of last year, ISP has chosen the ACT Aspire test to be our assessment tool for cumulative school performance.  You might be familiar with ACT because of their commonly used college
readiness exams.  The ACT Aspire test is an elementary-based assessment model that is aligned to the Common Core State Standards (CCSS). At ISP, all 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade students will take online tests in Reading and Math only.

This year we have chosen to administer the test two times. Students will take a practice test in January in order to get familiar with the testing interface and the types of questions, and will then
take the Summative test in the Spring(as they have been doing for prior years for the OAKS test). Students will be taking the test in their classrooms with their Homeroom teachers proctoring it.

As always, parents have the option to excuse their child from testing. Students may also test for only one subject, for example Math only or Reading only. If you would like to have your child opt
out of the test please get in touch with meas soon as possible.

Regards,
Ariana Levi
